Big Ben + 24hrs
Fiona Baird, Neil Lumsden and Alastair Baird completed a 24 hour walk at 12 noon on 13th May 2012. They had set off from Big Ben 24hours earlier and walked in a westerly direction ending up on the banks of the River Thames between Marlow and Henley. Their heroic effort raised a staggering amount of money for the Trust and we are extremely grateful to them and their very sore feet!
The Lucky winner of the magnum of champagne has yet to be announced but we will post details here as soon as we know.
Verity Hawson Ran The Madrid Half Marathon
On Sunday 1st April 2012 Verity Hawson ran the Madrid 1/2 marathon to raise money for the Jo Walter's Trust. Apart from the challenge of running 21kms, Verity managed to complete it in a time of just over 2 hours. Please show your support by giving a donation via BT MyDonate.
In her own Words
I didn't however, i'm afraid to say, manage to beat my personal best of 1hr 53 minutes which was my result from the Edinburgh half marathon 4 years ago; I managed it in an arduous 2 hours and 3 minutes (disappointingly). I'm not sure whether the slower speed this year was due to the lack of Scottish wind to blow me along, or whether it had something to do with the octopus i'd eaten the night before (I was going on the theory that 8 legs must be better than 2!), or maybe it was just because i'm getting old. Either way though, I managed it, and it's all thanks to your support and encouragement; I know that the money you generously donated will go towards some fantastic projects.
Our thanks to Verity for this valuable fundraising effort.

Cruising the West Coast
Andrew and Nicola Bradford were the purchasers of a week's sailing on the west Coast of Scotland, an auction item which they bid for at the Trust's Launch Ball in April 2011. Our thanks to them for outbidding the competition and to David and Mary Parson for generously donating the week's cruise on their beautiful yacht Gualin of Cowes. They have shared a few pictures of their trip with us, which started in Oban and finished in Ardrossan taking in the Crinan Canal along the way. We're not jealous at all, really. No we're not. Seriously.

They collected sponsorship and took bets on how long it was going to take them to complete this mammoth task, raising over £800 for the Trust as they did so. Their final time in the saddle was 130hours and 25 minutes, covering an astonishing 2,352km.
